@thdiller This thread is all over the place....lol. "Styles make fights", anyone ever hear of that cliche?? IMHO, Hagler "could" have won the fight vs Leonard....but alas he started sp, and it should have been 15 rds....Can you imagine? I loved them all because I'm in their generation.
What do we have now? PM/SSM is/were definitely on the big S, but then again all 3 including pbf are great fighters. IMO, I never saw PM bless/cross himself sooo many x in 1 fight vs Clotttey....why? |

How many years was Hearns #1 #4# AFTER he left 147?
TH wins 94% of his fights at 147 by KO before fighting the greatest of his era. Then moves up to 154 and goes undefeated for 3 1/2 years! Above 154, he gets stopped 3 times (twice KOd COLD).
Obviously he shouldn''t have left 154 as he never did anything above - he couldn't even last 3 with Barkley!
SRL faced the better version of Hearns and Duran - even stopping Duran! Old, fat, out of shape Duran comes within a round of beating Hagler!! |

So sad that Hager could never accept his defeat. It's all very well to say stuff like you could've fought another 12 rounds, but it's what you couldn't do that was crucial - you couldn't knock him down.

I don't dispute Pryors credentials, the point I was making is it's hard to believe SRL ducked Pryor and fought RD and TH. BTW I would pick SRL to beat Pryor in a close fight. |

I think the fight was a natural and Aaron was just peaking. Not only that but he was moving up just one division as opposed to Duran's two. I think Aaron would have driven leonard crazy |

besides, Roy is a overachiever. he did more with his titles than Ray Leonard ever did. Where Roy would make defenses, Leonard wouldnt becuz the opposition wasnt soft enough
that's why you see 0 defenses @ 154. Zero @160. Zero @168
I never believed leonard was 175 pound champ or that he had 5 titles so i wont mention 175 |
