I am a Jones fan, I was telling a guy to fuck up with all the conspiracy shit about him taking a dive for money, or putting the fight in different scenarios saying jones would have done this and won that, or Danny had led wraps. They fought he got caught and lost, just wasnt his night, but no one can except that and tries to take the glory out of his win. Jones is still a great boxer. peace. |

@jumpnam I'm not trying to take anything from Green. He floored RJJ, but I think he didn't do enough damage for the fight to be stopped. I saw the pavlik vs. taylor highlights. Taylor floored Pavlik and Pavlik had sturdy legs and was hurt. But taylor was missing and wasn't landing and tired himself out and pavlik held on and they went to the next round. I just feel like RJJ didn't have a good enough chance to show he could've made it to the next round. |

@jumpnam And your right 55 secs is enough time, ENOUGH TIME for Green to tire himself out by missing most of his punches and RJJ hold and then they go to the next round and continue the fight. Thats what I'm saying. And you not reading is your fault because you obviously haven't seen all the comments. @jumpnam NO! The ref DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO STOP IT just because RJJ has been knoced out before. Repeat, HE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT. Because those are two different things. KO and TKO are two different things. RJJ wasn't knocked out. He was dazed. And the ref will prematurely stop it because of RJJs reputation BECAUSE RJJ COULD HAVE SURVIVED. Look at RJJ when the ref stops it. He's hurt but hes not hurt to the point of stoppage IMO. |

At the end of the day it's more important to protect the guy and prevent a tragedy than to take the risk, let him carry on and hope he doesn't get injured, all for the sake of a win. I've not read a single report on this fight that disagreed with the ref's stoppage or called it premature. |

The thing is though one of the ref's responsibilities is to protect the welfare of the fighter, and prevent him from being seriously hurt. 55 seconds is a lot of time for a dazed fighter. It only takes one punch to permanently damage someone. Not many people would think that's a bad stoppage. You're right about reputations; RJ has never been known to get off the floor to win. That does factor in to the ref's decision. Therefore he was right to stop |

@jumpnam Its really just that RJJ has been ko'd too many times recently so you immediately think stop the fight when you see him hurt, REGARDLESS if the other fighter isn't landing that much nor give the chance for RJJ to let Green tire himself out by missing punches and then hold to make it to the end of the round with :55 secs left to go. |

@jumpnam And thats not the biggest cue for a ref to stop a fight, because the fighter who is the agressor HAS TO BE LANDING. Austrualian Ref to, the crowd, IT MAKES YOU THINK HE'S THAT HURT, but he was still there. Green even had to peel back RJJ gloves because he couldn't hit em @ 2:06. Like I said, fighters like Gatti have stood there and taken WAAAYYY more punishment than that and the fight not be stopped. Floyd was shaken up against mosley. |

@jumpnam You can not have your legs and still cover up. Just cuz your legs are gone doesn't mean your mentally not there. Mayweather legs were gone against Mosley almost 1:30 when Mosley caught em. But Mayweather did what RJJ was doing here, JUST COVER UP. For every 15 punches Green is throwing only one is landing. Do the analyzing, theres :55 secs left, Green could've threw himself out and RJJ could've held and the bell rings to go to the next round. Its the fact THAT GREEN WASN'T LANDING. |

" 85% of those punches did not land AND JONES WAS COVERING UP. @Slimkidd730 I think it was a good stoppage. Although Green wasn't landing much, Jones wasn't throwing back, and that's the biggest cue for a ref to stop a fight. Jones legs looked pretty gone to me, see how he stumbled back into the ropes at 2:19. I disagree with all those who say it was fixed; it's up to them to prove it.
